Make it yours
The first-run introduction explains the calculator, the trade helpers, and where your work is saved. Choose the measurement system you reach for most often. This is a preference, not a restriction: a calculation can still use other compatible units.
The app follows your phone’s light or dark appearance by default. In Settings you can choose a theme palette and change the appearance mode. The palette changes the application consistently; you do not need to configure individual colors.
Four places to go
| Destination | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Calculate | Everyday expressions with units attached to the values. |
| Tools | Guided helpers organized by trade, with inputs, results, and explanations. |
| Notebook | Projects and calculations you want to keep together. |
| Settings | Appearance, preferences, onboarding, and local data tools. |
Your first calculation
Try a rectangular area you can verify mentally:
12 ft * 8 ft
The result is 96 ft². The unit changes because multiplying two lengths produces an area. Convert that result to square meters when needed; the underlying quantity stays the same.
For a mixed-unit addition, try:
12 ft + 6 in
The result is 12.5 ft, or 150 in. You do not have to turn the six inches into a decimal foot yourself.
When you want a little guidance
Open Tools, choose a trade or search for a task, and open a helper. Enter the measurements beside the displayed units. Review the result, explanation, and assumptions together.
For a slab, a length, width, and thickness determine a volume. An additional allowance changes the quantity separately. A good result makes both values visible so you can see what changed.
Annotated drawings connect a field such as total rise or run to a location on the shape. The drawing is explanatory; use the result labels for the actual numbers.
Save what matters
Give a project a recognizable name and keep useful calculations with it. A saved calculation is a snapshot of its inputs and result. It is easier to review later when the title explains what you were measuring.
History helps you return to recent work. A project is for the entries you deliberately want to retain and organize. See Saved work & backups before moving important work between installations.
What needs a connection?
Installing the app and getting store updates need a connection. The calculator, included helpers, local projects, and saved work run on the device.
This preview has no account or synchronization service. Your phone and someone else’s phone each have their own local data.
